Common visa to be issued for ASEAN passport holders

Indonesian Minister of Foreign Affairs Marty Natalegawar said recently that ASEAN countries are beginning to plan out common visa system for countries in the region.

This plan is going to be put into reality in 2015, together with the setup of the ASEAN Community. “There should be special efforts for this plan to become a reality because each country has different visa issuance regime”, said Mr Natalegawar.

ASEAN visa is to some extent similar to that of Europe, accordingly citizens from a country outside of the region who have ASEAN visa in hand could travel to any member country. For eg., a person who holds in hand Vietnam visa could travel to Thailand with this Vietnam visa without any hassle or trouble.

It would take time for ASEAN countries to adjust their visa issuance process before this common visa is put into reality. This plan is no longer an idea but has been put into discussion already.

Vietnam travel visa

Visitors to Vietnam from most countries in the world are required to have an entry visa for staying in Vietnam (except several countries’ citizens are offered Vietnam visa exemption). If they visit Vietnam for vacation or travel only, they are said to apply for travel visa.

So what is Vietnam travel visa? It is as its name: the visa for travelers or tourists to Vietnam. Vietnam Travel visa (or Vietnam tourist visa in other words) is most popular Vietnam visa type.

Other visa types are Vietnam business visa, Vietnam student visa and Vietnam transit visa. This is when we classify in terms of purpose for visit. If classification is done in terms of times of entry into the country, there are single entry visa and multiple entry visa. And when classifying in terms of place to get visa stamped, there are Vietnam Embassy visa and Vietnam visa on arrival. [Read more...]

Govietnamvisa has offered Vietnam immigration 3-in-1 package service: Visa – Car – Airport Speedup service

With nearly 5 year experience of Vietnam visa and tour arrangement service, Govietnamvisa understand what visitors to Vietnam need to have a good and quick preparation for their Vietnam trip, thus, Govietnamvisa has launched a 3-in-1 package of Vietnam visa online service: “Visa – Car – Airport Speedup Service” for “making cients’ first step to Vietnam a perfect one”, said Govietnamvisa Sales Manager.

What is this “3-in-1 package”? This includes Vietnam visa online approval service, Vietnam car pickup service (from airport to hotel and vice versa), and Vietnam airport Speedup Service. The first service offers the Vietnam visa approval letter online (or approval code) after one or two working days (or only 4 hours in rush cases); the second one offers car(s) for picking up and bringing you from Vietnam arrival airport (Noi Bai in Hanoi, Danang in Danang province, or Tan Son Nhat in Hochiminh City) to your expected Hotel; And finally, the third or the last one provides you with the service in which the company’s staff will complete all the check-in procedures at the arrival airport in Vietnam on your behalf; you have to do nothing but to sit and wait to get your passport back with visa stamped on it.

Each of those 3 services individually might sound familiar to you, but when they are put together in one package, it becomes something very efficient for clients since the final price is much lower, and the time for seeking, selecting and booking each service is saved at least a half. To know more about each of those 3, kindly click here. [Read more...]

Foreign tourists allowed staying over 1 day in Vietnam after visa expires

Normally foreign tourists visiting Vietnam or Vietnamese overseas repatriating the country could only stay within the validity time of their Vietnam visas. However, in order to facilitate tourists to Vietnam, the Vietnam Immigration Department (A18) allows stay of over one day in the country for them after the expiration date of their visa Vietnam.

As regards the validity time, on the other hand, for different reasons of security, the A18 does advise tourists to apply for 1 or 3 months (single or multiple entry) visa rather than longer stay. If they would like to stay longer, they’d better have their Vietnam visas renewed or extended. Yet, the procedures for getting their Vietnam visa approved is not changed much.

There’s something one should be reminded that if the tourists to Vietnam stay more than 2 days or more in Vietnam (from the expiration date cited in their Vietnam visa pre-approved letter), they will be punished by the Vietnam Immigration Department: from $30. Therefore, in order to avoid this unexpected case, tourists should make a good plan of when to enter Vietnam before applying for visa to Vietnam since the visa’s validity only begins from the date cited in the visa approval letter rather than their actual arrival date.

For more details, kindly contact the Vietnam Immigration Department.

China, Vietnam mull construction of visa-free tourism zone

China and its neighbor Vietnam are considering building a visa-free tourism zone on the border of the two countries, tourism authorities said Wednesday.

China and its neighbor Vietnam are considering building a visa-free tourism zone on the border of the two countries, tourism authorities said Wednesday.

The visa-free zone will include Dongxing City in southwest China’s Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and Mong Cai City in northern Vietnam, said Yu Xiaojun, deputy chief of the Guangxi’s tourism bureau.

Tourists, and their vehicles, from China and Vietnam will not be required to have a visa or permit to enter the zone, he said.

The two cities have already worked out a blueprint, currently awaiting both countries’ approval, Yu said, without giving a time frame.

Once given the go ahead, the project will take five to ten years to take shape, said Zhu Shengyong, Party chief of Dongxing City.

On Monday, Dongxing City completed the construction of the largest marketplace on the China-Vietnam border, which is located on the east bank of the Peilum River, facing Mong Cai.

The 51-hectare market, costing 2 billion yuan (305 million U.S. dollars), includes border trade wharfs, import and export facilities and various commodity markets.

In 2010, China and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) established the China-ASEAN Free Trade Area, which eliminates tariffs on 90 percent of products traded between China and ASEAN member countries.
