Japanese passport holders are offered Vietnam visa exemption for 15-day stay, which means that you could enter and stay in Vietnam within 15 days.
However, if you would like to stay longer, or you are just not Japan passport holders, you have 2 options to get Vietnam visa in Tokyo
Option 1: From Tokyo or Osaka, Japan, you can apply for a visa to Vietnam. Visiting Vietnam embassy in Tokyo may cost you around 8000-10000 Japan Yen (75-100 USD) for the visa fee and other fee like transportation, waiting time…

Option 2: You can also apply online for a Vietnam visa on arrival if you fly to Vietnam from Japan. This option is cheaper and easier than applying visa for Vietnam in the Vietnamese embassy. The service fee is from 19.5 – 37 USD/person and the stamping fee is US$25 or US$50 (paid directly to the Immigration Officer at arrival airport), and the processing time is only 1 or 2 working days.
