5 days free stay of Vietnam visa

Sometimes, foreigners aksed for the 5-days free stay of Vietnam entry visa which introduced by Vietnam Government since May, 2002. This information seems to be very interesting and attactive to travelers.

To help clients clarify this question, we have aksed some reliable travel agencies and visa providers in Vietnam. However, no one knows and applies  this regulation. We searched on Internet and found that this regulation was applied in Furama Resort Danang. Vietnam Visa Exemption Agreement Between Vietnam And Thailand

The Agreement was signed on March 12,1997and entered into effect on May 10, 1997; Protocol on Modification to the Agreement was signed on February 20, 2004 and entered into effect on the date of its signing. The exemption of visa includes exemption of visa for entry, exit and transit. The duration of stay subject to visa exemption begins from the date of entry. The contents of visa exemption agreed upon between Vietnam and Thailand are as follows:

  • Exemption of visa is granted to bearers of diplomatic passports or official passports with the stay duration not exceeding 30 days.
  • Exemption of visa during the whole tenure is granted to members of diplomatic missions or consular posts or representative mission at international organizations and their spouse, and children accompanying them and bearing diplomatic passports or official passports. They are liable to complete procedures for residence   registration at the host country within 30 days from the date of their entry.

(Agreement signed on May 9, 2000 and effective on July 9, 2000.)

  • Exemption of visa is granted to bearers of ordinary passports with the stay duration not exceeding 30 days.

  • Make sure that you will need a visa to enter Vietnam. Some citizens from ASEAN countries can enter Vietnam without visa within 15-30 days.   • Check carefully your passport to make sure that it valids at least 6 months from your arrival date to Vietnam and 1 empty page to paste/glue the visa for Vietnam in this.
  • How long will the Vietnam visa application process take? Normally, the Vietnam Immigration Dept. may need 2 working days to issue the visa entry Vietnam for  normal processing request or 1 working day for urgent one. For any super urgent case, customers should apply for rush Vietnam visa on entry which takes 4 hours to process but the fee is a bit higher.

Regardless of where   they currently reside, all the sons and the daughters of the Vietnamese   nation are long to one day return to their motherland to reunite with   family, friends and loved ones.

In understanding the Vietnamese community abroad as inseparable sections   of the Vietnamese nation, Resolution 36-NQ/TW of the CPV Politburo on   overseas Vietnamese affairs was proposed “to create favorable conditions   for overseas Vietnamese to come back, visit their homeland and   relatives, and worship their ancestors”.    In carrying out Resolution 36-NQ/TW, during his official visit to the   United States of America, President Nguyen Minh Triet, at a meeting with   overseas Vietnamese, announced Decision No. 135/2007/QĐ-TTg, the   Regulations on Visa Exemption for Vietnamese People Residing Abroad.    Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dzung signed Decision No. 135/2007/QĐ-TTg on   17/08/2007.
