VIETNAM E-VISA: A GUIDE AT NOI BAI AIRPORT – HA NOI

Vietnam E-Visa is one of visa types issued to foreigners by Vietnamese Immigration Department via electronic system. All of the paperwork is conducted online through a travel or visa agent. You will complete the registration procedures, pay the E-Visa fee and receive the E-Visa online, then you will not need to pay any extra fee when you arrive at the airport in Vietnam. After landing at one of the four Vietnam international airports (Hanoi’s Noi Bai, Ho Chi Minh City’s Tan Son Nhat, Da Nang and Nha Trang), travelers are supposed to bring all of the required documents (Original passport and Vietnam E-Visa) to getting your Vietnam visa stamped on passport.

The process sounds simple but arriving at an airport of an unfamiliar country can take foreigners a lot of time to figure it out how to do the entry procedure there. Not all airports are the same; even those four airports in Vietnam are constructed differently. Thus, we’d like to do a series on “How to save time entering Vietnam by E-Visa at Vietnam airports”, starting with Noi Bai Airport in Hanoi.

First, let’s get to know the map of Noi Bai airport. This is the ARRIVAL terminal, in which the red lines indicate the directions that people follow to do arrival procedures.

(1)   Upon entering the immigration hall, look to your left to find the Vietnam E-Visa counter.
(2)   Submit your Original passport and Vietnam E-Visa at the counter (entry-exit forms are also available at the counter, please pick up one form and fill in if you haven’t done so in advance).
(3)   Proceed along the right-hand side of the office to the counter at the opposite end and wait until the officer calls your name (most of the time, he or she will also hold up the passport with your photo facing out).

It should take about 15 to 30 minutes to have your E-Visa back and your passort stamped. Now you already have your Vietnam visa. Should anything go wrong along the way, it is advisable to call the agent in charge of arranging your Vietnam E-Visa for help. With Vietnam E-Visa in hand, you now can continue with other arrival procedures.

(4)   Return to Immigration Control
(5)   Move to baggage reclaim and Customs.

One should not be overwhelmed by the process at arrival airport to get Vietnam visa. It is still most recommended that travelers use Vietnam E-Visa for their convenience. You will not have to struggle if there is any mistake while processing documents thanks to the assistance of visa agents.
