Quang Ninh: Exploiting the potential of music tourism

Music tourism has become a popular and growing form of tourism in several countries around the world. According to the market trend website Future Market Insights, the music tourism market is expected to reach 11.3 billion USD in the next 10 years.

Although the trend of enjoying music combined with traveling has existed for a long time globally, in Vietnam in general and Quang Ninh province in particular, this trend is starting to gain public attention.

In the past 2 years, hundreds of large and small music shows have been held in Quang Ninh province.

In recent years, in Quang Ninh province, there have been hundreds of large and small music shows organized such as: Thanh am ben Thong, music performances on cruise ships visiting Ha Long Bay... These programs often invite famous singers and artists, attracting many tourists to watch and experience tourism services at the destination.

Ms. Pham Thuy Linh (Hai Phong City) shared: “Last weekend, my friends and I traveled to Quang Ninh and enjoyed the Thanh am ben Thong music night in Ha Long. I found it very interesting to enjoy a full night of music with my favorite singer right in Ha Long without having to travel too far. We really enjoy these kinds of fun and relaxing activities on the weekend. I think this is also a very effective way to promote and attract more domestic and foreign tourists to Quang Ninh.”

In fact, with a new and impressive way of doing things, outdoor music programs have gradually created a new trend, receiving the love of music lovers in particular as well as tourists when coming to Quang Ninh province in general. Especially, in the fall and winter - the low season of sea tourism, music tourism programs are also attractive experience products for tourists.

In the coming time, the organizing committee will have a series of outdoor music shows to attract tourists to Ha Long.

According to experts, Quang Ninh province is considered one of the localities with great potential for developing music tourism. With convenient transportation and modern facilities, businesses can completely build attractive package tours, including tickets to music shows and accommodation, meals, and sightseeing to attract customers. In addition, along with exploiting the domestic market, Quang Ninh province also needs to pay attention to attracting international stars, becoming a destination for major art programs and events.

In fact, to be able to directly watch their idols perform, tourists, especially young people, often do not hesitate to spend money on tours as well as surrounding services. If Quang Ninh province can take advantage of and exploit this product line well, it will not only stimulate domestic tourists but also attract international tourists, especially from countries in the region to enjoy the music night of their idols and visit famous places in Quang Ninh.

It can be said that music tourism is a new and promising direction, promising to contribute to the strong development of the night-time economy of Quang Ninh province. However, in order for music activities associated with tourism to develop systematically and professionally, in addition to the participation of businesses, there needs to be continued strict management from management agencies.

It is known that in December 2024, in Ha Long City, Quang Ninh Province, a Korean and Vietnamese music festival is expected to take place. As planned, the music festival will have the theme "Ha Long - Wonder of the World, Destination of Stars" with a scale of about 20,000 people/1 show. The event will gather many famous artists from Vietnam and Korea, promising to attract the attention of many domestic and foreign tourists. Thereby, contributing to realizing the goal of welcoming 19 million tourists in 2024 of Quang Ninh Province.

Previously, in June 2024, the People's Committee of Quang Ninh province issued a document agreeing with the proposal of the Department of Culture and Sports on the policy of organizing the Korean and Vietnamese Music Festival program in Ha Long city.
