Question: visa entry types

1 month single: exact 30 days?
1 month multiple: within 30 days, but in and out many time from different contries?
3 month single: allowed staying in Vietnam within 3 months (90days)?
3 months multiple: within 90 days, allowed to be in and out VN many times?
Another question: Let's say we are going to visit Vietnam in July 10th 2015 and return back to US in August 15th 2015. When we should apply Vietnam visa online, and what type if visa we should apply for?
