According to regulations, foreigners entering Vietnam must have a passport (or other documents that can replace a passport) and must have an entry visa issued by a competent authority of Vietnam, except for cases of visa exemption.

To save time and money when applying for a Vietnam visa, you should follow these steps:
1. Check your nationality according to the list to see if you need a visa to enter Vietnam or not;
2. If you are not exempt from a Vietnam visa, you can apply for a visa online through our website (Approval Letter or Evisa)
Below is a list of procedures and documents required when applying for a Vietnam entry visa for nationalities that are not exempt from visas.
Procedures and documents required when applying for a visa to enter Vietnam:
1. Passport: valid for at least 06 months, not torn or blurred, and have at least two blank pages for visa stamping. Temporary passports or emergency passports are not accepted. In addition, the government only accepts ordinary passports for visa processing.
2. Visa approval letter: required if you get a visa at Vietnam international airports.
3. Photo: two (02) passport photos (4×6 cm) taken within the last 6 months and without glasses.
4. Declaration form: On Arrival Form for customs procedures at Vietnam airports
5. Stamping fee: paid in cash upon arrival at Vietnam airports
Note:
• If you come to Vietnam for a special purpose (except for tourism), you (may) need to submit some other documents for your visa application at the airport.
• Travelers transiting at Vietnamese airports should contact the airline in advance for further visa requirements.
• Foreigners and Vietnamese holding foreign passports entering, exiting or residing in Phu Quoc Island are exempt from visas for a maximum stay of 30 days provided that: travelers directly entering and exiting Phu Quoc Island, either by boat or airplane, no transit in any cities in Vietnam, your passport valid for at least 6 months following their date of arrival in Vietnam; and your passport has at least 02 blank pages
• If you are eligible for a Vietnam visa exemption, you only need to submit your original passport that is valid for at least 06 months from the date of entry.
• The visa approval letter is only valid at the airport, so travelers need to apply for an Evisa if entering Vietnam by landport or seaport.
