Entry procedures for foreigners entering Vietnam 2024 - 2025 according to new regulations.
1. Who are the foreigners applying for a visa to enter Vietnam?
All foreign citizens are allowed to enter and exit Vietnam, except for some people who are banned from entering or restricted from entering according to Vietnamese law.
Currently, foreigners entering Vietnam have diverse purposes including: Foreign experts, foreign workers working in Vietnam; Investors, People entering Vietnam for the purpose of visiting relatives, sightseeing, attending meetings, conferences ......
2. Visa application procedures for foreigners entering Vietnam to work or do business
A. Which individuals, companies and organizations are allowed to sponsor foreigners to enter Vietnam?
Individuals, businesses and organizations that are invited and sponsor foreigners to enter Vietnam include:
- Companies, enterprises: Limited liability companies, joint stock companies, partnerships; cooperatives (including domestic companies and foreign-invested companies)
- Authorized guarantees: Branches and representative offices of domestic and foreign enterprises.
- Organizations based in Vietnam: Non-governmental organizations, international organizations, social organizations, professional organizations, unions, associations ............
- Individuals: Individuals who are Vietnamese citizens (not subject to restricted citizenship rights) and foreigners who are temporarily or permanently residing in Vietnam have the right to sponsor relatives to enter Vietnam.
B. Procedures and documents for applying for official dispatch online or in person for foreigners.
Important notes before applying for an official dispatch and entry visa for foreigners:
- Required conditions: Passport valid for at least 06 months
- Determine where to receive visa for foreigners: Foreigners can receive visa at international airports, land border gates or can receive at Vietnamese Embassy/Consulate abroad.
Note: International border gates include: International road border gates such as Huu Nghi, Mong Cai, Lao Cai, Moc Bai, Bo Y .... and international airport border gates such as Noi Bai, Tan Son Nhat, Cam Ranh, Da Nang, Cat Bi, Phuc Quoc ....
Currently, the application for entry visa is done by submitting the visa application online or directly at the Immigration Department in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.
Apply for an online entry permit for foreigners via the public service portal
Step 1: Individuals, Business Organizations access the National Public Service Portal Website and the Ministry of Public Security Public Service Portal to register an electronic account (Register only once). Once approved, they can apply for an entry permit online.
Step 2: The business organization uses the approved account to declare information to request an entry permit on the National Public Service Portal. The business or organization uploads all required documents and fills in all required information in the information fields. Sign the signature according to the electronic signature protocol according to regulations on electronic signatures.
Step 3: Enterprises supplement documents as required by the National Public Service Portal (if any) while waiting for results.
Step 4: Receive online results on the national public service portal by logging in and downloading the entry document file after 5 working days.
Apply for visa directly at the Immigration Department in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City - Application for visa to enter Vietnam for experts, workers, investors, conference attendees, etc. sponsored by organizations and enterprises;
- Certified copy of the Business License of the sponsoring business organization
- Application form for seal and signature of the legal representative of the organization or enterprise according to form NA16 (For first-time submission)
- Official letter requesting entry into Vietnam for foreigners according to form NA2. This form is filled out online at the official website of the Immigration Department, printed, signed and stamped by the organization according to regulations.
In case a Vietnamese citizen sponsors a relative who is a foreigner. The application includes:
- Application for Vietnam entry permit for visiting relatives according to form NA3
- Certified copy of guarantor's ID card
- Certified copy of documents proving family relationships such as: birth certificate for children, parents, marriage certificate for husband and wife, household registration book, family certificate ......
3. Get visa and enter at international airport and at Vietnamese Embassy/Consulate abroad
- The entry letter will state the place to receive the visa at the Embassy, Consulate or at the airport (Noi Bai, Tan Son Nhat, Da Nang, Nha Trang, Phu Quoc, Cat Bi ....) or at the road border gate (Moc Bai, Huu Nghi, Lao Cai, Mong Cai, Cau Treo, Lao Bao, Bo Y ....)
- At the place of receiving entry visa, foreigners need to present:
+ Original passport with valid term
+ Vietnam entry visa (printed on A4 paper or electronic version on phone)
+ NA1 application form with 4x6cm photo attached
+ Pay visa fee
