With Vietnam Embassy visa , you need to bring the pre-approved letter to the Vietnam Embassy or Consulate closest to you to get the visa stamped, while with Vietnam visa on arrival, you only get on board of your airplane to fly to Vietnam and show the pre-approved letter to get the visa stamped at the arrival airport in Vietnam.
