Super typhoon Kong-rey made landfall, causing a series of flights in Taiwan (China) and the Philippines to be canceled, and some flights from Vietnam were also affected.

Super Typhoon Kong-rey has passed through the Philippine Area of ​​Responsibility (PAR), causing a series of flight delays and cancellations in the country in recent days. By the afternoon of October 31, the storm is forecast to move northwest through the waters of the northernmost part of Luzon until it makes landfall on the eastern coast of Taiwan (China).



Typhoon Kong-rey is predicted to be the largest storm to hit Taiwan (China) in the past 3 decades. On October 31, Taiwan (China) announced that public employees would be off work, schools and financial markets would be closed to avoid the storm. All flights connecting cities on the island and international flights were canceled.

Taiwan canceled all domestic flights on October 31 as Typhoon Kong-rey made landfall.

In Vietnam, some flights were also changed due to the impact of super typhoon Kong-rey. Accordingly, Vietnam Airlines announced that it would delay 4 flights between Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and Busan including VN422, VN423, VN426, VN427 on October 6 by 7 to 10 hours.

Passengers on flights affected by Typhoon Kong-Rey will be assisted in transferring to other flights on the same itinerary free of charge upon request.

Meanwhile, Vietjet adjusted some flights to and from Taiwan (China) on October 31.
