Korean airlines are increasing the number of flights and adding new routes to Vietnam to meet demand.

According to data from the Aviation Information Portal of the Korean Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, the number of passengers coming to Vietnam from Korea in April 2024 is 846,434 people, accounting for 31.1%. out of a total of 2,720,557 Korean tourists traveling to Southeast Asian countries.

With many outstanding tourist destinations such as Da Nang, Nha Trang and Phu Quoc, it is not difficult for Vietnam to rise to become the top tourist destination in Southeast Asia for Korean tourists .

In order to keep up with the increasing demand for tourism in Vietnam , Korean airlines are also quickly increasing the number of flights as well as establishing new routes.

Statistics show that in addition to Da Nang, which was previously a popular tourist destination for international visitors in general and Korean tourists in particular, Korean tourists now also like to visit other areas such as Nha Trang, Phu Quoc, and Da Lat.

In April alone, there were 173,865 tourists using the flight from Seoul to Da Nang, followed by the flight to Nha Trang with 141,130 tourists. Flights to Phu Quoc also recorded 53,680 passengers, proving that these are emerging tourist destinations in Vietnam that are loved by many Koreans.

To meet rising demand, Korean low-cost airlines are also increasing flights to Vietnam, especially focusing on expanding routes to Nha Trang and Phu Quoc instead of Da Nang, where the rates are competitive. Competition was too fierce with many flights being operated.

Starting from May, T'way Air has deployed the Busan - Nha Trang route with a flight frequency of one flight per day. Accordingly, the total number of direct flights operated by T'way Air to Nha Trang has increased to 3, with departure points from Incheon, Cheongju and Busan.

Starting from June 19, the Daegu - Nha Trang route will also be operated again. This route was discontinued after its first operation in May 2019, before the COVID-19 pandemic broke out. Currently, due to increasing demand, this route has been decided to resume operations.

Eastar Jet, which already has flights from Incheon to Nha Trang, also said it will launch a new route to Phu Quoc, starting from July 19 with a frequency of 7 round trips per week.

After Vietnam, second place belongs to the Philippines, home to famous resort destinations such as Cebu, Manila, and Bohol with 364,875 guests. Thailand, home to Bangkok, Phuket and Chiang Mai, ranked third with 356,319 Korean visitors.
