Vietnam Embassy visa - Definition and guide for application
Definition: Vietnam Embassy visa is the different way to call the “Vietnam visa which is stamped at the Vietnam Embassy or Consulate in foreign countries.” It is actually not a name or a kind of visa to Vietnam, but the method to get the visa stamped to be exact.
Is it legitimate? Yes, it is of course legitimate since it is issued by the Vietnam Immigration Department and double checked by the Vietnam Embassy or Consulate abroad before being granted to the passport holder.
What does it differ from Vietnam visa on arrival? Vietnam Embassy Visa is different from Vietnam visa on arrival in the place to get the visa stamped: With Vietnam Embassy Visa, the visa applicant has to send the passport to the Embassy/ Consulate in advance to get the visa approved and stamped, after that he/she needs to visit the Embassy/ Consulate Office in person to get his/her visa there. Yet, with Vietnam visa on arrival, the applicant does not have to send passport off because they just apply online through the online agent, after that, they get their visa stamped at the airport upon arrival in Vietnam.
How does it cost? The cost differs among nationalities, and normally is twice that of the visa on arrival.
How to get Vietnam Embassy visa?
To apply for Vietnam Embassy visa, you have two options:
Option one: you send your passport, 2 photos, together with some changes for visa fee (call your Vietnam embassy to ask for the exact fee) to the Vietnam Embassy/ Consulate for getting your visa approved and stamped, and after a few days you will visit the embassy directly to get your passport with stamped visa back.
Option 2: more easily and quickly, you just apply online here, select Vietnam Embassy visa, and get the Vietnam visa approval code via email after 1 or 2 days, after that you just need to bring this approval code (in paper) to the local Vietnam Embassy/ Consulate to get your Vietnam visa stamped into your passport.
Notes: After getting Vietnam visa approval letter from Vietnam Immigration Dept, you will get the visa stamped on your passport in 1 or 2 working days, it depends on each Embassy. The stamping fee is also different from each one, it costs around 60 - 120 USD.
